Digital X-Ray, Roller Tables,
“Discovering the power of chiropractic was a gift. Sharing the power of chiropractic is a blessing.”
One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is happening in a patient’s musculoskeletal system. A chiropractor needs to know how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in a patient.
One of the most heavily relied on diagnostic techniques in chiropractic care is the X-ray. X-rays provide doctors with a deeper understanding of a patient’s pain or discomfort.
Many patients might wonder about the safety of X-rays. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) estimates that radiation exposure from a digital x-ray of the spine is less that you would receive flying in plane from Los Angeles to New York. What’s more, the FDA recommends people not refuse an X-ray, because the risk of not having an X-ray when you might need one is far greater than the small risk of exposure to radiation. The FDA’s statement continues, “when a doctor determines the need for an X-ray, it is for your safety, benefit and diagnosis.”
People ask us about the roller tables we have in our office, more specifically they ask “What does the Chiropractic Roller table do?” and “What benefits do they provide?”.
The roller table helps by creating motion which can stretch the spinal joints and improve movement. It does this by mobilizing the spinal column while simultaneously stretching the muscles and ligaments. The patient lies face up on the table while the rollers beneath the surface gently move up and down the spine.
Those who are regularly active or suffer from a back injury can also use this tool to strengthen and restore range of motion in the spine. Here are some of the benefits:
- The roller table gently and effectively reestablishes the normal range of motion in the spine.
- It helps reduce muscle spasms that can be caused by weakened postural muscles or spinal injuries.
- The table helps increase blood flow and oxygen to your spinal discs, ligaments, and muscles, which can improve balance and strength.
- The table can be adjusted to accommodate a patient’s comfort and can be used with all body types, including children.

Highly recommend to anybody in need of chiropractic service! I was in a car accident and Dr. Wood was patient and immediately after my first visit I felt a little bit of relief. This is the first time for me seeing a chiropractor and the experience has been wonderful. With this being my first pregnancy also and lower back pain I knew I had to do something. I recommend Dr.Wood! He has helped me so much already. Knew exactly the spot and what was wrong without being able to take X-rays. Definitely recommended !
